I weighed about 60 lbs more than I do now, and I’d been undergoing treatment to reduce the scarring on my breasts that were a result of my rap3. About 20 minutes before I took this, I’d made a decision that I didn’t want to hide my body by contorting myself at different angles… I wanted to show off who I really was. The moment someone looked at this photo and told me I was beautiful… I couldn’t look at it the same way again. It opened my eyes to the fact that ***people loved me for who I was, not who I aspired to be***. I never shy away from a camera now.
