My Oma and Opa (great grandparents) were teenagers living on neighbouring farms in Holland during WW2. Their families hid Jewish folks in one of the barns, and my Opa was in charge of warning everyone when the Germans were coming. They both passed away a couple years back, but they were the coolest people I know. A very strong, loving couple who often spoke back and forth in Dutch while making us home made stroopwafel. Where is your family from? Any neat stories?
